About our Services

Understanding that violence and abuse affects the whole person, The Bridge's services and programs are offered to help our clients heal mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

All programs are offered, without being mandatory.

We empower clients to make their own choices and we honor those choices.

  • Residential Program/ Long-term Housing Program

    • 75-bed emergency shelter for women and children provides basic needs including USDA-approved meals and snacks as well as all counseling services (listed below) in a structured, nurturing environment.
    • 41-total units of permanent housing are available for women with a documented disability (mental or physical) and children in their care. 29-units are available at The Bridge's specially designed apartment complex, Destiny Village, and an additional 12-units are located throughout the community.  The rent for permanent housing units is subsidized on a sliding scale and includes all services described below. 
    • 8-units of transitional housing are available for single women. These units are located throughout the community and are available for up to two years of subsidized housing.
    • Counseling services are offered to assist families with assessing any safety concerns as well as any needs and barriers they may have to gaining self-sufficiency.

    These services may include:

    • Crisis Intervention
    • Individual Case Managment
    • Peer Support Group
    • Individual Counseling
    • Advocacy and Accompaniment to law enforcement, court, hospitals or other social services
    • Parenting Classes
    • Employment Assistance and referral to other assistance
    • Legal Advocacy for criminal and civil matters
    • Referral and Access to Community Resources
    • Children's Services are offered to assist families with assessing any needs or barriers that children birth to age 18 may be experiencing. They are offered in a nurturing environment with activities to stimulate development.

      These services may include:

    • On-Site Child Care at Emergency Shelter
    • On-Site Licensed Child Care at Long Term Housing Program
    • Support and Educational Groups
    • Recreational Groups and Activities
    • Therapy
    • Individual and Group Skill Development Activities
    • Children's Advocacy that includes school enrollment, safety planning, resource and referral and follow-up.

     

    • Community Outreach is available for students in local schools and community residents and community organizations. These sessions can be tailored to fit each group's specific needs.   

  • Community Outreach and Prevention

    24-hour Crisis and Referral Hotline is available 7 days a week, including holidays.  The hotline is your source for information, to seek crisis support, and to gain access to The Bridge's array of services and programs.  All hotline calls are strictly confidential.

24-hour Accompaniments are 7 days a week, including holidays. Trained Advocates are available to accompany clients to hospitals, police stations, courts, and other social service agencies.   

Professional Training is available for community professionals and leaders including those in medical, criminal justice, and social service fields.  Professional training is also available for students in local schools and also community residents.

Volunteer Opportunities are the at the heart of Bridge services and programs.  We utilize volunteers in all divisions of The Bridge including administrative purposes, direct service efforts, and special projects.
